The other day, I looked at the time after what seemed like scrolling through my Instagram feed for five minutes. And there it was, like a sudden jolt of electricity: I’ve been on it for more than an hour. So I reinforced my decision to be mindful. I looked at not only what I spent my time on but also what I consumed online. At that time, I was feeling uninspired. But more than inspiration, I was also presented with photos I have no use for. Horrible!
I exited the app and opened Spotify to put me on the right course. If you’re feeling uninspired, too, but would rather not be bitten by the Instagram bug, listen to these podcasts instead.
Podcasts for inspiration
The first episode of Superwomen I listened to featured Allure editor-in-chief Michelle Lee. As someone who works in the publishing industry, I look up to Michelle. She’s been breaking barriers in and introducing diversity and inclusivity at Allure. But more than what she does now, I was curious to know how she started.
Of course, aside from Michelle there are also many other inspiring women that have been featured on the podcast. The most recent one I listened to that inspired me was the one with Sallie Krawcheck.
The title of the podcast is pretty straightforward. Fast Company editors, along with a guest, talk about secrets to help you live a more productive life. From how lack of sleep affects your productivity to how we can feel less busy, they discuss them all. I liked the episode where they bust the myth that creativity cannot be achieved alongside productivity.
I used to watch Aileen’s YouTube channel, although I forget when I actually stopped. A month or so ago, I rediscovered her, in a way. I’m glad I did. The Lavendaire podcast makes you feel light and good after an episode. There are some nuggets of wisdom, of course, but you don’t particularly feel burdened to follow them.
How about you? What are your favorite podcasts for inspiration?
