Deciem Shuts Down, Miranda Sings Lipstick and More / Beauty Buzz

Sharing is caring!

Lotsa fun and not-so-fun things happening these days in the world of beauty. There are, as usual, new releases. And then there’s also a bit of controversy — well, a big controversy. If you’re hankering for some hot beauty news, you came to the right place. Here’s what you need to know right now.

Deciem shuts down

I’m sure you’ve already heard about the problematic CEO of Deciem (a.k.a. the company that gave us The Ordinary). Well, this could be the end for his outbursts on social media (or so we hope). After announcing that Deciem is shutting down, taking all the site’s content down and closing some of their stores, Estee Lauder has stepped in. Estee Lauder has minority shares in the company, and the sudden closing definitely harms their business so they’ve decided to sue. What will happen next? Well, you bet I’m gonna stay tuned to find out.

Miranda Sings Lipstick

I don’t get Miranda Sings’ humor, and I much prefer Colleen Ballinger than the character. But that’s not the point. The character, partly known for her fondness of red lipstick, now has an actual lipstick named after her.  Colleen also released a lipstick that’s based more on her personal style. I wonder why it took so long for Colleen and her management to do so, though. It feels like the move’s a little bit late. But, ah, better late than never, I guess.

Bobbi Brown Luxe Matte Lip Color

Bobbi Brown has released a new take on their bestselling Luxe Lip Color line. The packaging looks truly luxe. I’ve never tried a Bobbi Brown product before but I’m definitely interested, especially after reading (well, partially reading because I’m still not done) her book.

Double wiping

Well, if you need any more confirmation that you shouldn’t use the towel you use for your body on your face, this is it. There’s just too much bacteria transfer when you do that, according to dermatologists interviewed by Allure. It kinda reminds me of double dipping on sauces.

Ultrasound nails

Yes, it’s exactly what you think it is. Moms-to-be are using their sonogram as nail designs. I’d pass, but would you try it?
