Every start of the year, I try to think of a theme that will guide how I make choices (basically live and lead) the next 365 days. Last year was all about mindfulness. (Wow, it feels weird to say last year when it was only yesterday.) A couple of years ago was all about skin. This year, I vow to #makemore.
2018 was an okay year for me. The year before that was when I felt really challenged and taken out of my comfort zone. I wouldn’t say that I was complacent last year in terms of chasing dreams and creating, but I did face a lot of personal (and emotional) challenges. Two deaths in the family in the span of two weeks was just too tough to handle. The prospect of facing a milestone in age was also quite hard to absorb. But 2018 was also the year I finally came to terms with the things I am capable of doing. This year, I’m going to try trusting my instincts more and stop selling myself short. 2019 is the year I make more in all aspects of my life. Make more time for my family. Make more time for meditation. Make more connections. Make more memories. Make more stories. Make more meaningful choices. Make more.
Before I completely dive in, I also wanted to share a mini recap for this site. I (and my husband) have been trying to finally turn this into what I’ve always envisioned it to be. We’re still a ways away but we’ve made good progress. And so I’d like to share a few of the “wins” we’ve made.
- The readership on this site grew 150% last year compared to the previous year.
- Our top stories are about my favorite things! Hehe. Food and beauty. You really liked our story on Samgyupsalamat Tagaytay, Cathy Doll Acne Solution Serum Foam Cleanser and Kapusod.
- We’ve reached our goal (surpassed it, actually) to get 500 likes on Facebook before the year ended. If you haven’t yet, do follow us there!
I have a few plans for the site in the coming year, but I haven’t finished ironing them out. Before you think I’m procrastinating, though, cos I should really have had it planned out before the year started, I’m also committing to being more firm with what I say. And since I haven’t finalized things yet, I don’t want to put it out there. But I have so many exciting ideas, which you’ll hopefully also like.
So, here’s to 2019. May you be moved to feel, see and do this year.
